With all the craziness that is going on around them she wants to make sure her bird is along for the ride. The first, like the second revolves around a witch and an Eternal, but they seem to be a separate couple in each novel. She is busy writing her next book. The plot and outline of the story is very similar to the first book with the exception that Teresa has always known she is a witch. The first book was amazing! Teresa and rune are mistrustful of each other and with good reason, but they manage to overcome their many pasts to find trust and love to succeed in their mission. Her grandmother tried to preare her fo her awakening.
This book goes deeper into the story on how these witches came into their current predicament. Visions of Skyfire has plenty of passion strictly adult here, folks ,magic, and action, and will not only appeal to Paranormal Romance fans but also to Urban Fantasy fans. For weeks Shea Jameson has been haunted by visions of fire. Rune is very distrustful of Teresa because of past betrayals. This one had that same intensity that the first book had, which is a good thing.
Rune and Teresa kind of fell in between here. We learn a lot about the world Hastings has created and it was very intriguing. I was worried because the second book in a series do not always live up to the first, but Visions of Skyfire exceeded all my expectations. The strength of this novel is that we have a strong heroine and hero in this book. I love the fact that they are continuing the persecution storyline of the witches. She is so headstrong and stubborn; her feisty attitude kept her Eternal, Rune on his toes constantly. The first book was amazing! Visions of Skyfire is a stunning second addition to an awesome series.
Granted he seems to have a good reason to be disgruntled with Teresa. Help comes to her in the form of Rune, the Eternal destined to help her remember her past as a witch and locate a missing artifact that she has hidden years ago. Her grandmother tried to preare her fo her awakening. Witches live in fear because the public is deathly afraid of witches and once witches are found, they are executed. Racing against the clock they need to find it first before it falls into the wrong hands. He transports her to a temporary safe zone but he has been shot by deadly white gold bullets. Rune is an eternal warrior.
I like books that are driven on adventure and battles. As in the first book you get a sizzling action pack romance story. Therefore, these two have many obstacles to overcome in this novel; most of them being internal struggles. You have Rune and Teresa, old foe kellyn, the new foe, and the next witch pre-awakening. That part still flummoxes me a bit. I do like the magical aspect, but wish it was more concise. Teresa Santiago has awakened her abilities to summon lightning but is unable to control her power-or her attraction to Rune, her Eternal protector and destined partner. That is an exceptionally long time for your soul to regenerate and learn from previous mistakes. His power waning, Teresa must try to save him but with her powers being unstable and Rune wounded, can they escape the police and find the piece of the powerful artifact to undo the damage Teresa's past life caused? I needed something that would convince me like they were convinced. In Visions of Skyfire Teresa is all up for using the sexual tension to boost her powers with Rune but after that she wants nothing to do with him.
She's smart, strong, confident, sexy, and ready to tangle with her hunky Eternal, Rune, when he appears in a ball of fire to protect her from the creepy, government sanctioned Magic Police who hunt down and kill innocent witches. With each new witch awakening and discovering her destin I fell in love with this world in the first book, Visions of Magic, and was so excited to dive back in with Visions of Skyfire. The setup for the next set of characters is very interesting. Eight hundred years ago, the last great coven, in a quest for more power, cast a spell to open portals to other dimensions. I did not have a chance to go back and read the first book, but because the characters are new each time I was not confused starting at book 2 of the series. I love the dark, somber world that Hastings has created and I especially love her characters who manage to find love and happiness despite the most horrendous odds.
He has changed over the years and does not know how he is going to let Teresa into his heart again. She is so headstrong and stubborn; her feisty attitude kept her Eternal, Rune on his toes constantly. When they go though the mating ritual, the witch starts to remeber all of her past lives and where she hid her part of the artifact. But once they got past that I enjoyed it and the story moved quickly. I got it the first 3 times he mentioned it.
