He didn't expect it to be in the morgue. The tone in this book is often foreboding, creating an ominous mood. If I had, I would have argued against it in favor of something better. I liked the fact that the main character seemed responsible enough to 'just say no' but was disappointed that he didn't. The praised bluffs of the town were destroyed for a golf course, which is where the cover-up and bribery begin.
